United Hospital organises Patient Forum on World Cancer Day
The event was attended by many cancer patients and their family members
With the theme of "Cancer Screening and Awareness: Let it start from the family", the United Hospital organised a Patient Forum on Wednesday.
Marking the World Cancer Day (4th February), the hospital organized this programme, said a media statement.
At the event, Mohammad Faizur Rahman, managing director and chief executive officer of United Hospital, highlighted the sincere efforts of the hospital in the treatment of cancer.
"Since its inception in 2010, United Hospital Cancer Care Center has maintained its excellence in quality and compassion and has continued to serve the people of this country, a trend that will continue in the future," he added.
The event was attended by many cancer patients and their family members.
Cancer can run in a family from one generation to the next. Screening is an important factor for family members with history of cancer. Early detection of cancer makes treatment easier and more affordable, the media statement read.
On the occasion, cancer patient Firoza Afroz talked about her husband's supportive role in fight against cancer while Khaleda Mehzabin and her mother's cancer survival stories boosted the participants' confidence there.
Oncologist Dr Rashid Un Nabi and Dr Asim Kumar Sengupta spoke on the occasion along with their colleagues from the department.
Dr Shagufa Anwar, director, communication and business development at the United Hospital also spoke on the occasion.
