United Trust signs MoU with CMED Health
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between CMED Health (a Research Commercialisation of United International University) and United Trust for jointly implementing the innovative "Union Based General Practitioner (GP) Model" was held at United House, United City, Badda, Dhaka for the first time in Bangladesh for achieving Universal Health Coverage.
In presence of Abdur Rahim, Chairman, United Trust; Brigadier General AJM Fazlur Rahman (Retd), Executive Director, United Trust and Professor Khondaker Abdullah Al Mamun, PhD, Founder and Chairman, CMED Health signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations. Major Junayed Ahmed (Retd), General Manager, United Trust; Dr. Mohammad Anwarul Islam, Medical Consultant & General Manager, United Trust and Dr. Monzur Rahman Bhuiyan, Assistant Program Manager, CMED Health were also present in the ceremony.
United Trust and CMED Health agreed to implement the pilot project of "Digital GP Model" in Nayanogor union of Malandaha Upzilla in Jamalpur District having approximately 32,000 populaces in 7,000 households. A GP Center will be set up at Alhaj M A Rashid Maa, Shishu O Chokkhu Hospital, Nayanogor union of Malandaha Upzilla in Jamalpur from where a patient will receive higher level of treatment through structured referral process.
This Union Based GP Model integrated with CMED's Digital Healthcare platform is designed to provide doorstep healthcare services by trained health workers. This digital GP model is expected to bring revolution in healthcare service through enhancing service delivery, referrals, accessibility, accountability & equity for rural population & help achieving Universal Health Coverage for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
