2.5-month-old Tamim recovers from Covid-19
He was infected with Covid-19 through his father and grandmother
A two-and-a-half-month-old baby in Barguna recovered from the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and went home on Tuesday.
On June 13, the health department of Barguna tested the baby named Tamim as being Covid-19 positive. After 10 days of treatment in the isolation ward of Barguna General Hospital, Tamim returned home after recovery.
There was no paediatrician in the Covid-19 unit. With the efforts of the head of the Covid-19 unit at Barguna General Hospital Dr Kamrul Azad, Tamim has returned to his family.

Tamim was born at a time of social distancing, when one is not supposed to come in contact with other people. However, he could not avoid contact. Though he did not go out, he came in contact with his mother, father and grandmother and was infected with Covid-19 through his father and grandmother, said Dr Kamrul Azad.
However, coincidentally, his mother was tested negative, he added.
Doctors and nurses in the isolation ward at the hospital said Tamim's fight against Covid-19 was one of hardship and despair, and his recovery was not so easy compared to that of other Covid-19 patients.
Treating Tamim was several times riskier than treating other patients because Tamim doesn't understand the importance of wearing a mask or turning his head, Dr Kamrul said.
Doctors and nurses had to go through problems to insert a cannula in Tamim to give saline because he was crying. He had a non-stop cough too.
