Aarong to reopen on Sunday
Shoppers will have to book their store visits online
Aarong will reopen some of its outlets on Sunday, it announced Friday.
"Customers must book their hour-long specific time slot online to visit the outlets," Chief Operating Officer of the BRAC enterprise Md Ashraful Alam said.
However, Aarong will not open its outlets in the areas where the Covid-19 infection rate is too high, like Narayanganj and Basabo.
"Outlets within shopping malls are not reopening before Eid and will remain closed," Ashraful Alam added.
"We have added a booking option on our website aarong.com and customers are registering their time slots at their convenience," he said.
A limited number of customers will be allowed into the opened outlets simultaneously so that the retail chain can maintain social distancing, sanitation and all other anti-coronavirus measures strictly.
To let other customers enter, one must complete one's shopping within an hour and no one will be allowed to enter without registering.
"This is all for the collective good, we must avoid any crowding," Ashraful Alam further said.
Customers must choose an hour between 10am to 4pm for their Eid shopping.
Aarong called an online press briefing tomorrow to discuss the issue further.
