Covid-19 vaccination starts in Adamjee EPZ
On Wednesday, the opening day, 5,000 workers were inoculated
Bangladesh Export Processing Zones Authority (Bepza) started a 7-day long Covid-19 vaccination programme among 54,446 labourers of Adamjee EPZ on Wednesday.
On the opening day, 5,000 workers were inoculated. The remaining workers of Adamjee EPZ will be vaccinated under the programme within 30 November, said a press release.
Narayanganj Civil Surgeon Dr Mohammed Imtiaz and Adamjee EPZ General Manager Md Ahsan Kabir jointly inaugurated the vaccination programme.
Bepza has prepared 17 booths in seven centres inside the EPZ to ensure the vaccination smoothly as well as maintain uninterrupted production and export flow.
Starting with Cumilla EPZ on 18 August, a total of 1,63,686 workers in various EPZs have been vaccinated so far.
Bepza has been running the programme to ensure 100% vaccination in all the EPZs and subsequently maintain a production-oriented working atmosphere by ensuring health safety of workers.
Initially, Bepza proposed to bring 5 lakh workers under the vaccination programme. With persistent effort and the help of the district administration and civil surgeon office concerned, it has successfully included all EPZ workers in the programme.
