Korban Sardar Ali, Upazila Parishad (UP) chairman and Union Awami League President of Pabna's Dhalarchar, was expelled by the rulling party on charges of embezzlement of government relief rice.
Calling it a central decision, Ahad Babu, Pabna Awami League office secretary, confirmed it to The Business Standard and said that the party has ejected Korban Sardar from posts at all levels.
Earlier, the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) had arrested him with 229 sacks of relief rice on Monday night.
