Bangladesh investment bankers in community support
Regional police are helping them to distribute the packets containing essential groceries
Investment Bankers of Bangladesh gave a hand to the have-nots dwelling around Motijheel, the financial district in Dhaka.
During the nationwide lockdown and public holiday, the streets are empty, no money flow to the hand to mouth people and most of them are waiting for relief from the government agencies or the community.
"We, under the banner of association have built a small fund to buy essential foods for poor families who are appearing on the empty street," said Sayadur Rahman, the president of Bangladesh Merchant Bankers Association (BMBA).
Regional police are helping them to distribute the packets containing essential groceries.
BMBA said in a statement that their effort will run up to April 15.
