Bangladesh Navy has been providing relief materials to poor and disadvantaged people on the coats of Khulna and Chattogram amid the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak.
In line with delivering relief materials, members of the Navy are also raising awareness about Covid-19 and leading activities to spray disinfectant on the streets and provide medical assistance, according to a press release from Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).
The Navy contingent has distributed food and relief materials among 1,600 families in Barguna and adjacent coastal areas.
Additionally, the contingent has also distributed iftar materials among 300 impoverished families in different parts of Khulna town, reads the press release.
Meanwhile, another Navy contingent has distributed food among 1,300 families in areas including: the Mongla port area, Charkanai, Burirdanga, Mitha Khali, and Sunderban.
In Chattogram, Teknaf, Sandwip and Hatia, the Navy members are also: undertaking awareness raising activities, distributing food, providing medical treatment, monitoring people in home quarantine, using loudspeakers announcements to encourage people to wash their hands, among others, the press release adds.
