Bidyanondo-CMP field hospital begins journey
The medical facility will treat novel coronavirus cases and other patients free of cost
A field hospital jointly set up by the Bidyanondo Foundation and Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) began its journey in Chattogram's Patenga area Wednesday amid a spike in coronavirus patients in the port city.
CMP Commissioner Md Mahabubor Rahman inaugurated the hospital at BK Convention Hall with the Foundation Vice-Chairman Faruk Ahmed.
The hospital has readied 50 beds and will arrange another 50 soon, said a CMP press release Wednesday.
The medical facility will treat Covid-19 and other patients free of cost. The field hospital will collect ten samples per day in the primary phase. A medical team comprises 12 physicians, 16 nurses and 50 volunteers will look after the patients round the clock.
Besides, specialists across the country will be connected to serve the patients. Each bed of the hospital will central oxygen supply while two ambulances will provide patients with non-stop services.
Additional Police Commissioner (Admin and Accounts) Amena Begum, Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Mostak Ahmed Khan, Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) Shyamal Kumar Nath, doctors, nurses and other staffers of the Foundation were present at the inauguration.
