Celebrate Pahela Baishakh digitally: PM
"Pahela Boishakh is coming. It is a day of celebration for us. But the situation is different now. Try to celebrate it digitally."
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has requested the people not to celebrate the Bengali new year as the celebrations can cause vast public gatherings.
She made the remark during a videoconference with the government officials of 64 districts today. PM joined the conference from her official residence, Ganabhaban.
Sheikh Hasina said, "Pahela Boishakh is coming. It is a day of celebration for us. But the situation is different now. Try to celebrate it digitally."
Bangladesh has so far confirmed five deaths and 49 infections from Covid-19. And 19 people have recovered.
