A team of leading Chinese medical experts will visit the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) today.
The team will share its initial views regarding the Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh after listening to a briefing from the DGHS, according to officials at the Chinese embassy in Dhaka.
They will attend a meeting at the National Technical Committee (NTC) in the afternoon, said the embassy.
The team of leading Chinese medical experts with first-hand experience in dealing with coronavirus arrived in Dhaka on Monday (May 8).
The team has made full preparations to assist Bangladeshi doctors and have kept their eyes on the Covid-19 situation in Bangladesh.
The team, organised by the National Health Commission of China, consists of 10 respiratory physicians selected by the Hainan Provincial Health Commission.
The experts arrived with a bunch of medical equipment to treat coronavirus patients.
The team will stay in Bangladesh till June 22.
Dr SM Sahidul Islam, police superintendent of the Central Police Hospital, has been assigned to support the team.
"During their stay, the medical experts will visit designated coronavirus hospitals, quarantine and testing centres, discuss on the pandemic with their Bangladeshi counterparts, and make calibrated propositions for virus containment and treatment," said Foreign Minister Abdul Momen.
Earlier, during a phone call on May 20, Chinese President Xi Jinping assured Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of standing beside Bangladesh in its all-out war against Covid-19.
Many cooperative measures have been taken by China in Bangladesh, most of which have already been implemented since the outbreak here, according to the Chinese embassy in Dhaka.
