Consumer rights protection directorate DG, five staff contract Covid-19
DNCRP officials conducted market monitoring to keep the prices of daily essentials stable
Six officials and employees of the Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) have so far tested positive for the Covid-19.
Bablu Kumar Saha, director general of DNCRP, three other officials and a driver had already contracted the novel coronavirus, confirmed Masum Arefin, deputy director of the directorate, on Monday.
The infected officials are Deputy Director Atia Sultana, assistant directors Shahnaz Sultana and Rojobi Nahar Rojoni, and driver Milia Khanam.
Earlier on May 13, Monjur Mohammad Shahriar, deputy director of Dhaka divisional office of the directorate, tested positive for the deadly virus.
The DNCRP officials conducted market monitoring to make sure stability of prices of daily essentials. They also conducted awareness raising campaigns.
Earlier, six teams conducted the market monitoring, and now there are only two teams to play the roles.
