Covid-19 cases among police rise to 5,999
Of those who have contracted the virus, 1,809 work for the Dhaka Metropolitan Police
Some 5,999 police personnel have tested positive for Covid-19 as of Saturday, according to sources at the Police Headquarters.
Of them, 1,809 are from the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) alone.
The total number of infected policemen was 5,916 just one day ago.

So far 2,445 police personnel have recovered from the virus.
Some 6,723 members of the police are under home quarantine and 1,995 others are in institutional isolation.
Sixteen members of the Bangladesh Police– including a civilian staff member who was a stenographer at the DMP – have so far died of the novel coronavirus.
