Covid-19: National committee recommends preparing road-map to tackle second wave
The committee also recommended rapid tests to diagnose the second-stage virus infections quickly
The National Technical Advisory Committee on Covid-19 has recommended preparing a roadmap to contain the second phase of Covid-19 infection in the country.
The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has already sought help from the national committee in this regard.
The committee has also promised to assist in preparing this roadmap by its sub-committees, says a press release.
The committee has also suggested taking an all-out preparation to solve the problems already identified.
The recommendations were made at the 20th online meeting of the committee on Sunday.
Prof Dr Mohammad Sahidullah, president of the committee, chaired the meeting.
Other suggestions include conducting rapid tests to diagnose the second-stage virus infections quickly, implementing the recommendations regarding Covid-19 vaccine given by the committee, celebrating the upcoming Durga Puja on a limited scale following health guidelines, issuing travel advice for people entering the country from abroad, strengthening cautionary measures at the point of entry, ensuring screening of them and keeping them in quarantine and providing safe accommodation to healthcare workers for quarantine after duty at hospitals.
The committee also recommended that Covid-19 isolation centres should not be shut down permanently.
