DHPB, Scouts, Brac to work jointly to fight Covid-19
To support this challenging situation, Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh will donate hygiene products, such as Dettol soaps and Harpic, to 50,000 families throughout the country
To support frontline workers and the poor during the current Covid-19 circumstances, Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh (DHPB) is going to donate hygiene products, personal protective equipment (PPE) and other health kits in different areas of Bangladesh.
It will do so through a partnership with Bangladesh Scouts and Brac, said a press release.
The number of coronavirus-infected people is rising every day in the country. As there is no alternative to prevention except for staying away from the virus, people are staying at home-quarantine.
Disadvantaged families are becoming the worst-affected groups by this lockdown as they are unable to do their regular work.
Meanwhile, hundreds of doctors, nurses, law enforcers, volunteers and conservancy workers are working relentlessly day after day to keep people safe from the virus and to treat them when they are infected while they themselves are at risk of infection.
To support this challenging situation, Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh will donate hygiene products, such as Dettol soaps and Harpic, to 50,000 families throughout the country. These will be distributed among disadvantaged communities through Brac, the largest development organisation in the world. Also, cash donations will be provided to 500 poor and needy families to run humanitarian programme towards Covid-19 support in rural Bangladesh.
Bangladesh Scouts and DHPB have been working jointly since 2019 for promoting a healthy and clean Bangladesh. Now, for ensuring the safety of the frontline coronavirus fighters, DHPB will be donating PPEs, Dettol and Harpic products for law enforcers, healthcare professionals, and municipal workers.
Under this donation, more than 50,000 police, 13,000 cleaners and 15,000 healthcare frontline workers will get hygiene products. Apart from that, DHPB will also donate PPE, mask and hand sanitiser to the people. These will be donated in partnership with Bangladesh Scouts.
Earlier this month, DHPB also donated Dettol soaps that were distributed among disadvantaged families by the Bangladesh Scouts. They also jointly conducted several campaigns to help students learn about the prevention of Covid-19 through online training, poetry recitation, hand wash challenge, painting and book reading competition during the period of their home-quarantine.
Brac, Bangladesh Scouts and Dettol Harpic Porichchonno Bangladesh also request everyone to follow the World Health Organisation guidelines and the government's instructions on hygiene practices to prevent the spread of coronavirus, and pray for a speedy normalisation of the situation.
