Dr Zafrullah’s health condition improves
But he is having trouble speaking due to a sore throat
The health condition of Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury, who has been battling with both coronavirus and pneumonia, has improved.
"Dr Zafrullah's overall condition is slowly improving. His lung infection is subsiding. He is without artificial oxygen supply throughout most of the day," said Brig Gen Dr Mamun Mustafi.
"But he has been having trouble speaking due to a sore throat. We all pray that Allah heals him quickly," he added.
Dr Zafrullah is currently undergoing treatment under the care of Prof Dr Najib Mohammad and Brig Gen Dr Mamun Mustafiin his own institution – the Gonoshasthaya Nagar Hospital – according to a social media post published on the official Facebook page of Gonoshasthaya Kendra on Friday.
Dr Zafrullah, who was also a freedom fighter, underwent coronavirus testing with the kit developed by his own organisation.
He tested positive for Covid-19 on May 25.
