Environment department DG dies of Covid-19
Dr AKM Rafique Ahammed joined the Department of Environment as the director general on 22 May 2019.
Dr AKM Rafique Ahammed, director general of the Department of Environment (DoE), has died from Covid-19.
He breathed his last at around 4 am on Saturday at the capital's Rajarbagh Central Police Hospital.
Dipankar Bar, public relations officer of the Ministry of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, confirmed the news to media.
Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minster Md Shahab Uddin, Deputy Minister Habibun Nahar, and Secretary Ziaul Hasan NDC have mourned his death.
