Former DMCH surgeon Dr TIM Abdullah dies from Covid-19
Dr Abdullah breathed his last at 10:30am on Tuesday at the capital’s Popular Medical College Hospital
Renowned Surgeon and former head of the surgery department of Dhaka Medical College and Hospital Dr TIM Abdullah Al Faruque has died. He was 72.
Dr Abdullah breathed his last at 10:30am on Tuesday at the capital's Popular Medical College Hospital. He was undergoing treatment there for coronavirus infection.
Confirming the matter, the Bangladesh Medical Association issued a press release on Tuesday and mourned his death.
Dr Abdullah joined Popular Medical College as a professor after his retirement from government service.
He has served as the president and secretary general of the Society of Surgeons of Bangladesh and as the honorary secretary of the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons.
Dr Abdullah left behind his wife, renowned gynaecologist Professor Dr Kohinoor Begum and many well wishers including his children.
