Govt books 580 rooms at 20 hotels for doctors, nurses
All officials including doctors and nurses had to return home after ending their duty round at the hospitals, posing serious risks to their family members as well as all others they come in touch during their stay outside
The government has booked 580 rooms at 20 hotels for doctors and nurses, who are in the frontline of the fight against the novel coronavirus.
Accommodation for the doctors and nurses of Kurmitola General Hospital, Sheikh Rasel Gastroliver Institute & Hospital, Kuwait Bangladesh Friendship Government Hospital, Institute of Child and Mother Health (ICMH), Dhaka Mohanagar General Hospital and Railway General Hospital, Kamalapur, have been made in the nearby hotels, said a Health Ministry press release.
The hospitals do not have any residential facilities for the health workers. Every day, all officials including doctors and nurses had to return home after ending their duty round at the hospitals, posing serious risks to their family members as well as all others they come in touch during their stay outside. So, the government has arranged accommodation for them.
So far 39 people have died from the deadly virus in Bangladesh and more than 800 are infected, who are being treated at the hospital, dedicated for coronavirus treatment.
