Govt reaches relief to 4.5 crore people
143,067 metric tons of rice has so far been allocated across the country while 113,802 metric tons of rice have been distributed among some one crore families
Some 4.5 crore people across the country have received relief assistance as the government continues its efforts to mitigate their sufferings in the wake of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
According to the information received from the district administrations of 64 districts, as of on Sunday, 143,067 metric tons of rice has so far been allocated across the country while 113,802 metric tons of rice have been distributed among some one crore families, an official handout said here today.
Besides, the government has so far allocated cash Taka 80 crore while more than Taka 51.69 crore has already been distributed in cash among over 3.6
crore people of more than 59.11 lakh families, the handout added.
A total of Taka 15.94 crore was allocated as baby food aid while about Taka 13.10 crore has so far been distributed among 7.89 lakh people of 3.83 lakh
families.
