A couple, who recently returned to the country from India, has tested positive for Covid-19 after completion of their 14-day institutional quarantine in Jashore.
The duo -- Razib Saha, 34, and his wife Sushmita Saha, 22, -- has been admitted to the corona ward of Jashore General Hospital after their test results came positive today.
Returning from India on 29 April, Razib and Sushmita stayed in quarantine at Magpai Hotel in Jashore town.
According to sources from the Health Services Division, administrative officials sent them to institutional quarantine on that very day when they entered the country through Benapole port.
They went back to their home on 13 May after completing their 14-day quarantine. But they received the news of contracting the virus today.
District Civil Surgeon Sheikh Abu Shaheen said as per government directives, Razib Saha and his wife secured clearance on 13 May after the end of 14-day institutional quarantine. They had no symptoms of Covid-19 in their bodies at that time.
After three days of return to their home, they have complained of mild symptoms and came positive today after tests, he added.
