Navy provides clothes, food in coastal areas
Naval contingents deployed in the remote coastal areas of the country are working relentlessly to deal with the coronavirus situation
The Bangladesh Navy has provided Eid clothes and food to the poor and unemployed families living in the country's remote coastal char areas amid the novel coronavirus pandemic.
Members of the naval contingents deployed in Sandwip and Hatia handed over the items to the needy families – about 200 in each area – on Friday, according to a press release issued by the Inter Services Public Relations Directorate (ISPR).
Besides, various food items including rice, lentil, oil and potatoes were also distributed along with disinfectant soaps and masks among the locals. The Navy also gave directives to raise awareness about the coronavirus.
Some 110 packets of relief items received from Bidyanondo Foundation were distributed among the local poor, destitute and unemployed families of Chila union of Mongla Contingent upazila.

Members of the Navy are conducting regular awareness activities, including spraying pesticides in local areas, going door to door in the remote areas, providing food assistance, and patrolling among the local helpless, poor and the needy.
