In line with the government initiatives, PRAN-RFL Group - one of the largest business conglomerate of the country - has taken the measure.
The doctors and nurses of the hospital are ready to provide treatment round the clock.
Kamruzzaman Kamal, marketing director of the group, said, "We have already completed all preparations to setup the isolation unit. Also, we have sent a letter to the Directorate General of Health Services for permission to open the isolation unit, and hope to get it by this week."
The coronavirus infected patients will get free treatment from the hospital, he added.
Dr Rajib ul Islam, coordinator at Amzad Khan Memorial Hospital, said, "We have prepared the isolation unit in our hospital to tackle the emergency crisis of the coronavirus pandemic. A special medical team comprising doctors of medicine and other departments are ready to provide treatment."
We have trained the medical team for the purpose, said Rajib adding that the civil surgeon of the district will supervise the isolation unit.
"We have arranged all necessary medical equipment for treatment as well as personal safety kits for doctors and nurses," said the doctor.
Primarily, we have prepared a 20-bed isolation unit and will admit patients after observing their conditions. ICU facility will be available for the serious patient, he added.
