Pray at home in red zone: Govt
It also asked people of other religions to pray at home instead of going to the church, pagoda or temple
The Ministry of Religion Affairs on Saturday asked everyone living in the areas marked as a red zones to pray at home instead of going to the mosque or temple.
"Since the coronavirus situation in the country is deteriorating every day and more people are getting infected or dying from it, the minister of health and family welfare suggests that everyone living in red zones should pray at home," a press release from the ministry says.
The ministry asked only the imam, muazzin and khadims to pray in mosques. It asked the devotees to perform Zuhr prayer at home instead of holding Jummah prayers at the mosque on Friday.

The press release said that not more than 5-10 people can attend prayers at mosques.
It also asked people of other religions to pray at home instead of going to the church, pagoda or temple.
Meanwhile, the ministry asked everyone concerned to not organise any religious event that involves a mass gathering. Necessary action will be taken if anyone does hold mass gatherings.
Earlier on April 6, the ministry gave a similar directive asking everyone to pray at home.
Later on May 6, Muslim devotees were allowed to pray at mosques while taking necessary safety measures.
