Single-day vaccination drops to 1 lakh
The health authorities on Saturday administered the first doses of coronavirus vaccines to a total of 1,00,983 people, the lowest single-day number in the last few days.
With the latest ones, the total number of vaccinated people rose to 36.82 lakh - 23,55,423 men and 13,26,729 women - across the country, according to data provided by the Directorate General of Health Services.
Earlier on Thursday, some 1,21,010 people received the first dose of the jab, while the number was 1,18,654; 1,14,680; and 1.16,300 on the respective previous days.
In Dhaka city, some 23,130 people received the vaccine on Saturday, and the number is 38,219 when it comes to Dhaka division.
The lowest number of vaccines - 3,500 - were administered in the Mymensingh division on the day.
With vaccines imported from India, Bangladesh inaugurated vaccination on 27 January and rolled out the mass-vaccination drive on 7 February, with an aim to inoculate some 70 lakh people in the first month.
As of Saturday afternoon, a total of 49, 02, 948 people have registered themselves to receive the vaccine.
