Tofail Ahmed gives relief to 10,000 families from private fund
This is the third time he has sent relief to people of 13 unions and one municipality under the Bhola Sadar upazila
Awami League Advisory Council member Tofail Ahmed has distributed relief among 10,000 families in Bhola Sadar upazila from his own private fund.
"As Bangabandhu led the nation to independence, his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is also leading in facing the coronavirus epidemic," the former commerce minister said during a videoconference on Thursday.
"Leaders and workers of the Awami League have to work for the general people now, as they had worked together in 1971," the senior party leader added.
This is the third time Tofail, the member of parliament from Bhola-1 constituency, has sent relief to the jobless and helpless people of 13 unions and one municipality under the Bhola Sadar upazila.
The food will be sent to the homes of 10,000 families, listed by the union and ward leaders and workers of the party.
On behalf of Tofail Ahmed, chairman of the Awami League district council Abdul Momin Tulu distributed the relief among the union leaders and workers.
