Transport workers want PPE, treatment facilities, compensation for Covid-19 victims
They called on the law enforcement agencies to strictly contain extortion, irregularities and disorder of any sort in the sector
Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation has urged the government to provide Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) for transport workers.
Besides, the federation has requested the government to ensure proper Covid-19 treatment for the workers and compensation if any of them dies from the virus.
It also wants rice at Tk10 per kilogram and Open Market Sell (OMS) cards for the workers.

Acting President Shahjahan Khan MP and General Secretary Osman Ali of the federation said in a joint statement today that around five million transport workers were serving the nation being exposed to contracting coronavirus infection.
However, they called on the law enforcement agencies to strictly contain extortion, irregularities and disorder of any sort in the sector.
