ULAB Alumni Association provides daily essentials to people in need
Alumni of ULAB’s Media Studies and Journalism Department Nafisa Khan coordinated the distribution of the essentials after identifying the people who needed them the most
The Alumni Association of the University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB) is helping the people in need as many became jobless amid the countrywide shutdown imposed to curb the spread of novel coronavirus.
The association provided essential goods for 50 families in the capital's Old Dhaka area on April 19 with money people donated to its relief fund.
Each package contained 10kg rice, 1kg lentil, 2kg potato, 1kg onion, 2kg flour, powdered milk, oil and salt.

Earlier on April 18, the association distributed daily groceries among 20 families who live in the remote hilly areas of Rowangchhari union parishad under Bandarban's Rowangchhari upazila with the help of Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mehedi Hassan Riyel.
"We took the initiatives to help low-income people. We received a good response within a very short time. We will continue to donate food until the situation gets back to normal," ULAB Alumni Association's President Ahmed Rakib said.
