United group contributes Tk5 crore to fight pandemic Covid-19

United group has built an emergency isolation centre in Munshiganj where coronavirus patients can be treated
United Group, one of the largest socio-economic infrastructure-based business houses of Bangladesh, has donated Tk 5 crore to the Prime Minister's relief and welfare fund to help the government combat the coronavirus outbreak in the country.
Hasan Mahmood Raja and Moinuddin Hasan Rashid, chairman and managing director of United Group respectively, handed over the cheque to Dr Ahmad Kaikaus, principal secretary to the prime minister on Sunday.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina attended the ceremony through video conferencing from Ganabhaban.

Moinuddin Hasan Rashid told The Business Standard, "We have begun with around two dozens of beds. We are praying not to see any situation for capacity expansion for treatment."
Moinuddin, however, added they had open spaces there and preparation for setting up more than 1,000 beds if Covid-19 outbreak goes out of control.
