Widow donates relief items for 500 families in Bhola
Minti Rani funded the relief effort with her savings, which she gathered from the money her sons gave her as monthly allowance
Minti Rani Debnath, a 60-year-old widow from Bhola, has donated relief goods for 500 impoverished families in the Lalmohan upazila.
Bhola 3 lawmaker Nurunnabi Chowdhury distributed the relief among 300 poor families at a programme on Friday noon. The remaining 200 families are yet to receive relief packages.
Each of the packages contained 10 food items, including 10kg rice, soybean oil, salt, soap, potato and chickpea.
Minti Rani funded the relief effort with her savings, which she gathered from the money her sons gave her as monthly allowance. Her two sons, Jugal Chandra Debnath and Milon Chandra Debnath, fully supported her initiative.
On the same day, Nurunnabi Chowdhury also distributed iftar items among 1,800 families and seeds among the farmers in Paschim Char Umed, Ramganj and Lord Hardinge union of the upazila.
