Woman with Covid-19 symptoms dies in Barishal
It would not be right to say without examination what caused her death
A woman died at the coronavirus isolation unit of Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital on Saturday night.
Confirming the matter to The Business Standard, Director of the hospital SM Bakir Hossain said, "The woman was admitted to a government hospital with diarrhea three days ago. She returned home after two days after recovering."
"Then she caught by fever, neck pain and respiratory problem. She was also a cardiac patient. The victim was taken to Barishal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital as her condition deteriorated at around 11.45pm on Saturday. She died after being sent to the coronavirus unit of the hospital at around 12pm. Her relatives left the spot with the body without disclosing it to anyone," the hospital director added.
However, SM Bakir Hossain said it would not be right to say without examination what caused her death.
Six patients were undergoing treatment at the Covid-19 unit of the hospital with the suspicion of having coronavirus infection till Saturday.
"There is no facility of coronavirus testing at the hospital. So it is not clear whether any of them are infected with the virus," he added.
