157 Bangladeshis return from Maldives, 16 Indian sailors repatriated

A total of 157 stranded Bangladeshi citizens returned from Maldives while 16 Indian sailors, stuck here due to Covid-19 pandemic, were repatriated to Guwahati through separate chartered flights today.
A chartered Boeing 737-800 aircraft of local carrier US-Bangla airlines landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA) here carrying 157 Bangladeshi nationals from Maldivian capital Male at 6 pm, the airline officials said.
Earlier, Novoair, another local airline, left HSIA for India this noon carrying 16 stranded Indian sailors while the flight landed at Indian northeastern city Guwahati at 1:18 pm local time, according to the airline sources.
