Commercial flights from Jashore Airport to resume from June 11
Two private airlines will operate four flights each on the Jashore-Dhaka route daily
Jashore Airport is going to resume commercial flights from June 11 after a closure of about two-and-a-half months. Initially, two private airlines will operate four flights each on Jashore-Dhaka route daily.
Currently, helicopters carrying cargo and patients are operating at the only airport in the south-western part of the country.
Manager of Jashore airport Masudul Haque said, "As we got approval for a medical team for the airport on Tuesday, we will resume commercial flights operation from Thursday (June 11)."

A three-member team will perform the duties to verify whether there are any suspected Covid-19 patients among the passengers of the aircraft, he added.
US-Bangla and NovoAir will operate four flights each on the Jashore-Dhaka route. As Biman Bangladesh Airlines has suspended all its flights till June 15 so it will operate flights later, Masudul Haque said.
Civil Surgeon of Jashore, Dr Sheikh Abu Shaheen said, "As per approval from the higher authorities, we will send a medical team to the airport from June 11. The team of three will perform their duties in two shifts."
US-Bangla Airlines' Jashore office manager Sabbir Hossain said, "Tuesday, we were informed about the resumption of commercial flights from the airport and hopefully, the passengers will start using the service in a day or two."
After the detection of Covid-19 cases in the country, all the airports in the country were closed on March 25. Jashore Airport operated its last commercial flight on March 24.
After the general holiday ended, flight operations resumed between the Dhaka, Chattogram, Sylhet, and Saidpur airports. Jashore airport has not yet been reopened due to the lack of a medical team.
