Bajus decides to lower gold price by Tk1,773 per bhori
The new price will be effective from tomorrow
The Bangladesh Jeweller's Association (Bajus) today (14 December) decreased gold price by Tk1,773 per bhori, fixing a good quality 22-carat gold price at Tk1,38,498 per bhori.
The new price will be effective from tomorrow, according to a media release.
The decision was made by the Bajus Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring during a meeting today.
Earlier, on 11 December, Bajus had raised the price of gold by Tk1,878 per bhori.
Under the updated pricing, the cost of good quality 22-carat gold now stands at Tk1,38,498 per bhori (1 bhori = 11.664 grams).
The updated prices for other gold categories are as follows: 21-carat gold is priced at Tk1,32,199 per bhori, 18-carat gold at Tk1,13,315 per bhori, and traditional gold at Tk93,020 per bhori.
While gold prices have increased, the price of silver remains unchanged.
According to the current rates, the price of silver per bhori is: Tk2,577 for 22-carat, Tk2,449 for 21-carat, Tk2,111 for 18-carat, and Tk1,586 for the traditional method.
