Community Bank launches 7 new branches

Community Bank Bangladesh Limited on Thursday launched 7 new branches across the country.
Dr Benazir Ahmed BPM (Bar), Inspector General of Police (IGP), and chairman of Community Bank inaugurated the new branches from Police Headquarters via video conference, read a press release issued by the company.
During the inauguration ceremony, Benazir Ahmed vowed to establish Community Bank as the best bank in the country and among the top-most reputable banks in South Asia.
He said, "Community Bank is a bank for people from all walks of life, not only for the members of the Bangladesh Police. The name 'Community Bank' itself is a testament of that promise."
Addressing depositors and businessmen he said, "You can confidently do business with us and your deposits will be completely secured".
The new branches are— Panchdona branch in Narsingdi; Mirzapur branch Tangail; Gouripur branch in Cumilla; Khulna Branch in Khulna City; Ranirbandar branch in Dinajpur; Nawabganj branch in Dhaka; and Anderkilla branch in Chattogram City. With the inclusion of these 7 (seven) new branches, Community Bank now has 17 branches within a year of its commercial operation. The bank is fully owned by Bangladesh Police Welfare Trust.
Police officials, local leaders and dignitaries, members of the business community were in attendance.
Dr Md Moinur Rahman Chowdhury BPM (Bar), additional IG (A&O), Bangladesh Police; and Masihul Huq Chowdhury, managing director and CEO of Community Bank also delivered remarks during the event.
