Mercantile Bank held virtual conference on AML & CFT
Mercantile Bank Limited virtually organised the Annual Anti Money Laundering and Combating Financing against Terrorism (AML & CFT) Conference 2021 on Saturday.
A total of 213 officials of the bank attended the online conference. The attendees' comprised of senior management, regional heads, divisional, unit and cell heads along with respective branch managers.
Abu Hena Md Razee Hassan, former Deputy Governor of Bangladesh Bank and Head of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU) inaugurated the conference as Chief Guest. In his speech Razee Hassan highlighted the importance of AML & CFT guidelines and regulations.
Md Sawkatul Alam, General Manager of Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit graced the conference as Special Guest. Md Quamrul Islam Chowdhury, Managing Director & CEO of the bank chaired the AML & CFT Conference-2021. In his address, Quamrul Islam Chowdhury advised participating officers to strictly adhere to the AML & CFT legislation and guidelines in discharging their assigned responsibilities and safeguard the bank's interest.
Shamim Ahmed, Deputy Managing Director & CAMLCO made the welcome speech at the virtual conference. The virtual sessions were conducted by the officials from the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit. Javed Tariq, Principal of MBTI moderated the conference.
