Primary school students can recieve stipends through Rupali Bank’s SureCash
As a result of this agreement, it will be possible to distribute around Tk 900 crore for the remaining two installments of 2019-2020 and about Tk 1100 crore for kit allowance among the primary students
An agreement was signed between Rupali Bank Ltd, one of the largest state-owned commercial banks in the country, and the Department of Primary Education to provide stipends to primary students through mobile financial services.
Dilip Kumar Banik, joint secretary of planning and development department, department of primary education and Khandaker Ataur Rahman, deputy managing director of Rupali Bank signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations.
As a result of this agreement, it will be possible to distribute around Tk 900 crore for the remaining two installments of 2019-2020 and about Tk 1100 crore for kit allowance among the primary students.
Rupali Bank's mobile financial service SureCash is the first digital initiative in the country, working since 2016.
The director-general of the Department of Primary Education Fasiullah, Additional Director General Sohel Ahmed, the director of the project to provide stipends Md Yusuf Ali, Director of the Department of Primary Education Administration Md Mizanur Rahman, Deputy Chief of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education Firoz Uddin, CEO of Pragati Systems Md Shahadat Ullah Khan, GM of Rupali Bank Md Shawkat Ali Khan were present at the signing.
