Recruitment tests of 7 banks postponed
A total of 140,155 candidates were scheduled to take the test for a total of 771 posts
The recruitment tests of seven banks for the post of senior officer have been cancelled due to circumstances caused by the raging pandemic across the country.
Bankers' Selection Committee (BSC) confirmed the matter today as reported by Prothom Alo.
The recruitment tests (based on 2018) were scheduled to be held in 67 centres in the capital on December 5.
The seven banks are Sonali Bank Limited, Janata Bank Limited, Rupali Bank Limited, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank, Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation and Investment Corporation Bangladesh and Karmasangsthan Bank.
Bangladesh Bank General Manager Arif Hossain Khan, also BSC member secretary, said: "We wanted to hold the test, but finally cancelled it considering the impact of coronavirus in the country."
A total of 140,155 candidates were scheduled to take the test for a total of 771 posts.
Of the positions falling vacant, Sonali Bank had 264 vacancies, Janata 139, Rupali 211, Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank 113, Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation 8, Investment Corporation of Bangladesh 30, and Karmasangsthan Bank 6.
