Govt to spend more on education
The minister also proposed Tk24,940cr for the primary education sector in the upcoming fiscal year, which is only 3.74% higher than FY2019-20
The government has proposed Tk66,401cr for the education sector in the budget for the next fiscal year.
In his budget proposals placed in parliament today, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal set aside an allocation of Tk33,117cr for the secondary and higher education sector, a budget 11.7% higher compared to that of the outgoing fiscal year.
The minister also proposed Tk24,940cr for the primary education sector in the upcoming fiscal year, which is only 3.74% higher than FY2019-20.
He also proposed Tk8,344cr for technical and madrasa education, which was Tk 7,450 crore in FY 2019-20.
