Bankers’ Welfare Association of Bangladesh holds nineth AGM in Sylhet
The 9th AGM and Annual Get-Together of the Bankers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh were held in Sylhet.
Bankers from various parts of the country attended the event, which was held on Friday evening at the Grand Sylhet Hotel and Resort, a five-star hotel in Sylhet.
Kazi Md chaired the event. Shafiqur Rahman, former Managing Director & CEO of Mutual Trust Bank and founding President of Bangladesh's Bankers' Welfare Association, was the convener. Among the attendees were the Convener of the Consultative Committee, T M Faruque Chowdhury, the General Secretary of the Bankers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh, Md. Emdad Hossain, Treasurer Suraiya Jebin, and one of the directors of Bankers Housing Limited, Md Mosharraf Hossain.
Also present at the event were the managing director of Civic Group of Companies, Sakhawat Hossain, Civic Group of Companies advisor, and Brigadier General (Retd.). Nazrul Hasan, Chairman of Civic Design and Development, Mansis Majumder, Director of Civic Group of Companies, Rasheduzzaman Shamim, and Marketing Director of Civic Group of Companies, Bobyullah.
At the event, it was announced that the Bankers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh is comprised of serving and former officers from banks and financial institutions nationwide. The association is working on improving the skills of bankers through training, seminars, and workshops to enhance their efficiency in their respective institutions.
In addition, the association encourages the talented children of bankers. The Bankers' Welfare Association of Bangladesh is also involved in building housing and educational institutions for its members and helping those affected by poverty, floods, and other natural disasters.
As in previous years, the 9th AGM and Get-Together event included the presentation of awards to bankers in 7 categories.
