BBA conducts lottery for flats under Dhaka Elevated Expressway project
Bangladesh Bridge Authority (BBA) organised a lottery for allocating flats to individuals affected by land acquisition under the Dhaka Elevated Expressway PPP Project. The event, held at the BBA conference room, was presided over by Mr Md Fahimul Islam, Secretary of the Bridge Division and Executive Director of BBA, as the chief guest.
In this rehabilitation initiative, 1,344 flats were constructed within a modern rehabilitation village in Uttara Diabari. These flats, spread across 12 buildings in two blocks, offer two size categories—1,090 square feet and 1,294 square feet. The village is equipped with essential facilities, including a mosque, a clinic, a community centre, a market, and a playground, ensuring a holistic living environment for the residents.
The first phase of the lottery, conducted on 25 November, allocated flats in the 1,090-square-foot Rupsha building within Block B to 104 applicants. The second phase, scheduled for 26 November, will cater to 198 applicants seeking flats in the 1,294-square-foot Gorai and Ichamati buildings within Block A.
The lottery was conducted transparently and festively in the presence of applicants, ensuring fairness through a three-tier system covering cluster, floor, and flat selection. Successful participants were promptly informed of their allocated flat numbers during the event.
This initiative underscores the government's commitment to ensuring equitable rehabilitation for individuals affected by infrastructural developments.
