BRAC Bank partners with NBR for online tax payments
To enhance taxpayer convenience and streamline the tax payment process, BRAC Bank has set up a booth at the National Board of Revenue (NBR) Office in Dhaka on the occasion of "Income Tax Information—Service Month 2024."
The booth aims to facilitate citizens' tax payments through an automated challan system. This system allows taxpayers to deposit cash or make payments via digital channels, making tax transactions smooth, efficient, and timesaving.
Ms Sharmin Ferdousi, Commissioner of Tax Zone 11, NBR, and Mohammad Abdul Ohab Miah FCA, Financial Controller, BRAC Bank, inaugurated the booth at Tax Zone 11 Office in Dhaka. Major Mohammad Arif Chowdhury (Retd.) Unit Head Transaction Banking, BRAC Bank, and senior officials of Tax Zone 11 were present at the ceremony.
During the inauguration ceremony, Ms. Sharmin Ferdousi expressed her enthusiasm about collaborating with the tax commission and BRAC Bank. "This initiative is a testament to our commitment to improving service delivery for taxpayers. Knowing the challenges individuals face while filing tax returns, we, through this booth, aim to provide a hassle-free experience integrating modern technology with traditional payment methods," she stated.
"At BRAC Bank, we leverage technology to simplify financial processes. This temporary booth represents our dedication to serving our customers and contributing to the nation's economic growth by ensuring timely tax payments," Mohammad Abdul Ohab Miah FCA expressed.
The booth will run throughout "Income Tax Information—Service Month 2024," providing citizens with access to real-time support and guidance in completing their tax payments.
This initiative reflects the bank's strong commitment to providing convenient, customer-centric banking services to all. Through this customer engagement, the bank is facilitating the government's revenue collection and contributing to national development.
