Community Bank Bangladesh PLC donates BDT 3 million to flood victims relief fund
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has contributed BDT 3 million from its CSR fund to the Honourable Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund to support flood victims. The donation was handed over on Tuesday, 10 September 2024, at the Secretariat. Mr Md Hasnat Khan Rizvi, from the bank's Sustainable Finance Unit, and Mr Didarul Karim, from the Marketing Department, presented the pay order to Mr Faruq I Azam, Bir Protik, Adviser to the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief. Also in attendance was Mr Md Kamrul Hasan, NDC, Secretary of the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief.
The donation is part of the bank's ongoing corporate social responsibility initiatives. Furthermore, the bank's employees have contributed an amount equivalent to one day's salary, which has been deposited in the Honourable Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund. The fund will be used to provide essential food, medicines, and clean drinking water to those affected by the recent floods.
