EBL wins four accolades at Mastercard Excellence Awards 2024

Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) honoured with four prestigious awards at the Mastercard Excellence Awards 2024, held on November 16 at the Radisson Blu Water Garden Dhaka. The bank received recognition in the categories of Business (Innovation), Credit Business (Domestic), POS Acquiring Business, and Online Acquiring Business for 2023-24.

Ali Reza Iftekhar, Managing Director and CEO of EBL, accepted the trophies from Dr. Ahsan H. Mansur, Governor of Bangladesh Bank, during the ceremony. Other senior executives from EBL, including M. Khorshed Anowar, Deputy Managing Director and Head of Retail and SME Banking; Ahsan Ullah Chowdhury, Head of Digital Financial Services; Tasnim Hussain, Head of Cards; and Faisal M. Fathe-Ul Islam, Head of M-Commerce and E-Commerce, attended the event.

The sixth edition of the Mastercard Excellence Awards, themed "Leading by Resilience", recognized organisations that made significant contributions to the banking, payments, and fintech industries in Bangladesh. Established in 2019, these awards celebrate innovation and resilience across the financial sector.
