Fu-Wang Foods, a bread and confectionery products manufacturer, has appointed its new managing director after its MD Miya Mamun resigned from the executive board.
The company informed through a Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) disclosure on Sunday (24 September) that Rafiqul Hasan Khan will join Fu-Wang Foods as the new managing director.
Miya Mamun is currently serving as the CEO of Minori Co Ltd, a Japanese farming company. In January 2022, Minori Bangladesh — a subsidiary of Minori Co Ltd — entered into the board of publicly listed Fu-Wang Foods by acquiring a 7.61% sponsor directors stake at the food and allied company.
Since then Minori Bangladesh has been operating Fu-Wang Food, where Miya Mamun was serving as the managing director.
Confirming the resignation, Miya Mamun told The Business Standard that his decision to quit from the board was for the betterment of the company.
He said, "I spend the majority of my time in Japan these days, which has created several management challenges for the company. As a solution, we have appointed a new managing director who will have the capacity to oversee the company's operations around the clock."
