Karmasangsthan Bank and RAISE project signed MOU to support returning migrants
A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between Karmasangsthan Bank and the Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) project under the Wage Earners Welfare Board of the Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Foreign Employment on 4 December. The agreement aims to provide comprehensive support to Bangladeshi migrant workers who have returned from abroad.
The signing ceremony took place at the Probashi Kallyan Bhaban conference room in the presence of Mr. Shoaib Ahmad Khan, director general and additional secretary of the Wage Earners Welfare Board. Representing the respective organisations, Karmasangsthan Bank Managing Director Mr. Arun Kumar Chowdhury and RAISE Project Director and Joint Secretary Dr. ATM Mahbub-ul Karim signed the agreement.
During the event, Deputy Managing Director of Karmasangsthan Bank Ms. Meher Sultana, General Manager Ms. Mahmuda Yasmin, Deputy General Manager of Loan and Advance Department Mr. Md. Moshiur Rahman, Deputy General Manager of Central Accounts and Fund Management Mr. Mohammad Zakir Hossain, and Board Secretary Mr. Md. Ikbal Hosen were present. Senior officials from the RAISE project were also in attendance.
This partnership is a significant step towards enhancing reintegration support for returning migrant workers, enabling them to access financial assistance and tailored services to rebuild their livelihoods in Bangladesh.
