NBR signs MoU with ICAB for using DVS
"DVS will bring a massive change in revenue administration"
The Value Added Tax (VAT) wing of the National Board of Revenue (NBR) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) for verification of audited financial reports through the Document Verification System (DVS) on 28 September 2021
The MoU was signed at a ceremony held in the Conference room of Rajswa Bhaban in the capital, said a press release.
Mahmudul Hasan Khusru FCA, president of ICAB, and Md Masud Sadiq, member, VAT policy of NBR, signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.
Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem, chairman of NBR and senior secretary of Internal Resource Division of Ministry of Finance, Md Abdul Kader Joaddar FCA and Maria Howlader FCA, vice presidents of ICAB, Shubhashish Bose, chief executive officer (CEO) and Noor-E-Khoda Abdul Mobin FCA, Gopal Chandra Ghosh FCA, Sabbir Ahmed FCA, Md. Moniruzzaman FCA, Md Mahamud Hosain FCA Mohammed Forkan Uddin FCA, council members were also present on the occasion.
Abu Hena Md Rahmatul Muneem said that DVS will bring a massive change in revenue administration.
"Through ensuring transparency in the accounting and revenue process, we shall be able to increase the revenue collection to the government's coffer at the same time to reduce the tax burden on taxpayers," he added.
Among others, Mahmudul Hasan Khusru FCA, president, Md Masud Sadiq, member, VAT policy and Mohammed Forkan Uddin FCA, ICAB council member, also spoke at the event.
