NCC Bank organised financial literacy training programme and open credit disbursement
NCC Bank PLC. in collaboration with the Department of Youth Development (DYD), organized a day training on "Financial Literacy and Technical Skill Development for Women Empowerment" for 100 women entrepreneurs recently at Gram Unnayan Karma (GUK) Auditorium, Bogura.
Dr Gazi Md. Saifuzzaman, Director General of DYD, as Chief Guest and M. Shamsul Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of NCC Bank, as Guest of Honor, disbursed open credit facilities among five women entrepreneurs at the closing ceremony. Hosna Afroza, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Bogura presided over the ceremony while Md. Zedan Al Musa PPM, Superintendent of Police at Bogura, graced the occasion as a special guest. Md. Iqbal Mohsin, Director of Financial Inclusion Department of Bangladesh Bank, A.K.M Mofizul Islam, Director and Md. Tosaddek Hossain, Deputy Director of DYD, Nighat Mumtaz, SVP & Head of Women's Banking & Deputy Head of Financial Inclusion Cell, A.H.M. Abdus Sadik Khan, SVP and Head of Human Resources Division, Sharif Mohammad Mahsin, SVP and Head of SME and Md. Solaiman-Al-Raji, SVP & Head of CRM-CMSME, along with other concerned officials of the Head Office and Bogura Branch of NCC Bank, were also present at the occasion. NCC Bank distributed sewing machines to 10 women entrepreneurs in the readymade garments category and veterinary materials to 10 women entrepreneurs in the livestock category based on the final evaluation.
Dr Gazi Md Saifuzzaman, Director General of DYD, said the Department of Youth Development is working to groom youth to become self-employed across the country. He mentioned that around four lac youth receive training from DYD throughout the year. Many of them earn foreign currency after getting training in freelancing, which is directly contributing to the country's economy. Finally, he thanked NCC Bank authorities for taking this initiative.
M Shamsul Arefin, Managing Director and CEO of NCC Bank, said NCC Bank is working for the financial inclusion of mass people across the country and ensuring Financial Literacy for all as per Bangladesh Bank guidelines under Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In this continuation, this training course has been arranged to empower women in the socio-economic context of Bangladesh. It will ultimately create women entrepreneurs, increase women's involvement in the financial sector and contribute to the country's economy. He believes this training programme would help improve their business knowledge and skills regarding financial management, such as obtaining loan facilities.
Hosna Afroza, Deputy Commissioner and District Magistrate of Bogura expected that today's small entrepreneurs will become big through the right decision to invest in profitable work and creativity. He emphasised reducing polythene and increasing the usage of organic fertiliser and bio-pesticides in terms of environmental aspects. Finally, she appreciated NCC Bank and DYD authorities organising this training course.
