NKFTCL and EBL partner for coastal forestation in Bhashanchar
Eastern Bank PLC (EBL) has entered a significant partnership with Nou Kollan Foundation Trading Company Ltd. (NKFTCL) to work closely on environmental sustainability and community support in Bangladesh's Bhashanchar coastal regions.
The collaboration under EBL corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives aims to fund coastal forestation and tree plantation in Bhashanchar island in the Bay of Bengal this year. NKFTCL will spend a total of BDT 38 lac to plant trees, benefiting approximately 50,000 residents of the island, which will increase in the future by improving environmental sustainability and living conditions.
Osman Ershad Faiz, Additional Managing Director and COO of EBL, handed over the check for Tk. 38 lac to Captain M Habib ul Alam, Managing Director of NKFTCL, to support the initiatives at a ceremony held at the Navy Headquarters in Dhaka today

The check handover ceremony was attended by the Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Personnel), the Director of Welfare, and the Managing Director of NKFTCL, as well as EBL Head of Communications and External Affairs Ziaul Karim, the Head of Administration, Maj Md. Abdus Salam (Retd); Company Secretary Md. Abdullah Al Mamun FCS, and the Head of Business Information Systems, Md Maskur Reza.
