NRBC Bank donates Tk.1cr and one day salary of its all employees to support flood victims
NRBC Bank donated Tk1 crore under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and equivalent to one-day salary of all levels of employees for the flood-affected people.
In this, Tk50 lac has been donated to the Chief adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund and the remaining Tk50 lakh will be distributed to the affected people through the branches and sub-branches of NRBC Bank in the flood-affected areas.
This decision was taken by the members of the Board of Directors due to a circulation memo.
On 25 August 2024, Sunday a pay order of Tk50 lac was deposited in the Chief Adviser's Relief and Welfare Fund account at the Principal Branch of Sonali Bank. Apart from this, food items and cash are being distributed among the affected people in various places of Feni, Comilla, Noakhali Chattogram, Sylhet, and other districts.
Also, food items, medicines and water are being distributed to the flood affected areas with the personal donation of the directors and one day's salary of the employees.
Parvez Tamal, Chairman of NRBC Bank, said that NRBC Bank, recognized as the Bank of Rural People and the Humanitarian Bank, is always ahead in welfare-oriented work. Millions of people in 11 districts across the country are living miserable lives due to severe floods. NRBC Bank stands by them as a friend and will also take necessary steps to help flood-affected people economically.
He added that in addition to financial support from CSR funds, disbursement of low-interest-free micro-loans will be increased to create employment and business activities and resume agricultural and other activities for the flood sufferers.
In 2013, expatriate entrepreneurs established NRBC Bank. NRBC Bank currently provides banking services through more than 1500 service centers across the country with 750 branches and sub-branches. NRBC Bank is disbursing micro loans to create entrepreneurs. Already, about 2 thousand crores of loans have been distributed among about 1 lakh small entrepreneurs.
